What’s New at Afternic? Make Offer on the Custom Lander, Invoicing, and More

What's new at Afternic - August 2024

At Afternic, we’re continuously working behind the scenes to bring new features and enhancements, designed to help our customers sell more.

We’re thrilled to announce several updates including Make Offer, invoicing, an upgrade to visitor statistics, and insights into our new inventory management system.

Make Offer Comes to the Custom Lander

This year, we introduced the Custom Lander, blending the popular Dan.com lander design with GoDaddy’s branding. The feedback was fantastic, and many users have embraced it.

The Custom Lander initially offered Buy it Now and Lease to Own options. Due to popular demand, we’ve now added a Make Offer field!

The new Make Offer feature allows buyers to send their initial offers directly to our expert brokers through a two-step, on-screen process. Sellers can then monitor incoming inbound offers via the Lead Center.

Providing a Make Offer option can unlock new possibilities for sellers. By allowing buyers to submit offers in addition to having a Buy it Now price, you can expand your potential buyer pool and enhance engagement from interested parties visiting your domain name.

Sellers can also leverage the offer data to gain a deeper understanding of their domain’s desirability, leading to informed decisions about valuation and renewals.

Adding Make Offer to the Custom Lander is simple. Follow this quick tutorial to start using Make Offer today.

Top Tip: Set your minimum offer value. By default, the Minimum Offer value for domains at Afternic is $20. To increase this, head to your Portfolio page, select one or more domains and click on “Pricing” in the footer toolbar.

Introducing Invoicing

As we continue to integrate Dan.com’s technology into Afternic, we’re pleased to unveil a highly requested feature: Invoicing.

This replaces our previous support-driven process, reducing the time you spend managing your transactions.

We’re excited to share that invoicing will be available for all new domain sales in the coming weeks. Once launched, you’ll be able to access your invoices through the “Sold” section of your Afternic dashboard.

For Buy it Now transactions, you’ll head to your transaction details page in the “Sold” section. For Lease to Own, you’ll head to “Leased Out,” then navigate to your transaction details page.

Visitor Statistics Upgrade

In 2023, we launched a feature that provided sellers with valuable visitor statistics, helping you understand how many visitors your domains were attracting. This metric has been widely appreciated, and behind the scenes, we’ve been working to refine this data further.

In collaboration with GoDaddy’s data team, we’ve implemented additional filters to remove bot traffic, offering you an even more accurate count of visitors to your domains. This ensures that the data you rely on for decision-making is as precise as possible.

As a result, you may notice an adjustment in your portfolio visitor stats, reflecting this improved accuracy.

User Interface (UI) Improvements

Our commitment to refining the user experience at Afternic continues with several updates to our UI.

On the Portfolio page, we recently reduced the width of columns to fit more data on the screen and adjusted information boxes to ensure easy access to what you need. This means you can now view more information at a glance, reducing the need for excessive scrolling.

On the Sold page, we combined actions and status columns, along with other user experience adjustments to help you navigate more efficiently. This makes managing your sold domains quicker and more intuitive.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the final few months of the year, we’re excited about the ongoing development of Afternic and the launch of more features designed to increase your sales potential.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a valued part of the Afternic community.
