What’s New at Afternic? Transaction Assurance Upgrades, Self-Brokerage, and More

This year has already brought major advances to Afternic. From Transaction Assurance to Self-Brokerage and more, 2025 has delivered significant product leaps for domain sellers.

Below, we’re recapping the most impactful releases and highlighting some new features you may not have experienced yet.

1. Transaction Assurance: Automation, Speed, and Transparency

One of the most notable releases this year was the overhaul of our domain delivery system – Transaction Assurance (TA). By combining best practices from Afternic, Dan.com, and Uniregistry, we’ve built a powerful transaction engine that offers a seamless closing experience for sellers.

Through simplified workflows, automation, and advanced detection, we’ve introduced new levels of speed and clarity, all within a redesigned user interface.

And this is just the beginning – Transaction Assurance is an ongoing initiative. We’re continuously refining the process and expanding automation to ensure the best possible experience for our users.

2. Self-Brokerage: Negotiate your sales at Afternic

In March, we rolled out Self-Brokerage – a game-changer for sellers who want to manage negotiations directly with buyers via Custom Lander leads.

Exclusively available to top-tier members of GoDaddy’s Discount Domain Club, Self-Brokerage gives you full control of your domain deals with a dedicated UI for direct buyer interactions.

Getting started is simple:

1. Connect your Afternic and GoDaddy accounts. (Here’s how.)
2. Go to Account Settings and toggle “Make Offer” leads from our brokerage team to yourself.
3. Use the Custom Lander with a “Make Offer” option on your domains.

3. Pending Review: Activate Your Listings

In January, we introduced a new self-serve tool for Pending Review resubmissions – addressing one of the biggest pain points for sellers.

Domains can enter a pending review status for a variety of reasons:

• The domain has expired
• It was transferred to another registrar
• Registrant Whois information changed
• There are syncing delays between platforms

This process helps ensure listings are current, accurate, and ready for sale.

Now, with the self-serve resubmission tool, you can quickly process these domains on your own, with no need to contact support (except for compliance reviews).

4. Fast Transfer Resubmission

Many of our product updates follow a “Magical Staircase” approach, launching core features first, then iterating based on feedback. Senior Director of Product for Domain Investors at GoDaddy, Alan Shiflett, discussed this approach on the Domain Name Wire podcast.

After launching the Pending Review tool, we quickly followed up with a popular request: Fast Transfer resubmission.

Now, using the same resubmission tool, you can process Pending Review domains and opt into Fast Transfer at the same time.

5. Bulk Search Upgrade

Managing large portfolios just got easier. Our upgraded Bulk Search tool, available on your Afternic Portfolio page, now supports up to 10,000 domains at once.

After performing a bulk search, you can apply filters and use bulk actions to update domains efficiently.

New “Select All” functionality also allows you to update pricing and landers for your entire list via the footer toolbar.

It’s never been easier to manage your domains in bulk through Afternic’s UI.

6. Pricing AI

AI and experimentation are two major themes you’ll see more of in 2025. As Afternic Product Manager Prakash shared in a recent interview:

“Experiments are key to learning and growing as a platform, and bringing AI into Afternic to help our domain sellers wherever possible is going to be hugely rewarding.”

One early AI experiment has already become a permanent feature: Pricing AI.

Accessible through each domain’s details page, Pricing AI combines GoValue with real-time signals like current offers, leads, and comparable listings to help guide your pricing decisions.
