Introducing Portfolio Agent: Conversational Control of Your Afternic Listings 

The way that customers manage domains is starting to change.  

AI is moving product interactions from clicks and filters toward natural conversation, where users can ask for what they want, review the proposed action, and approve changes without navigating every step manually. 

Today, we’re launching the first of our beta agents: Portfolio Agent. Available for accounts with 500 domains or fewer, Portfolio Agent helps you manage pricing, listing actions, and gathering portfolio data through a guided conversation, giving you a faster way to spot opportunities and act on them. 

What the Portfolio Agent does 

We’re opening access to Portfolio Agent, a new way to manage your Afternic listings and understand where your portfolio needs attention, all through conversational AI. 

Managing a domain portfolio means making a lot of small decisions that can affect sales: which names need pricing, which listings should offer Lease to Own, which landers are best suited to each domain, and which domains are seeing buyer interest starting to build. Portfolio Agent brings those decisions and insights into one workflow. 

The Portfolio Agent acts as your on-screen portfolio partner to: 

1. Update key options including pricing, Lease to Own, and landers. 

2. Identify portfolio gaps and find improvements you’ve missed, including pricing, nameservers, and more. 

3. Gather portfolio data. Use your Afternic data (including searches, views, and lead count) to help inform your portfolio’s strategy. 

Together, these capabilities give sellers a faster way to understand what is happening across their portfolio and take informed action without moving through multiple tools or reports. 

How to use Portfolio Agent 

If you have 500 or fewer domains in your account, you can see the Portfolio Agent in the bottom right-hand corner of your Afternic dashboard. From there, you can start with common portfolio actions, such as: 

Set Buy it Now pricing

Setting and updating Buy it Now pricing is a great place to begin. Domains with a Buy it Now price are 3-4x more likely to sell than unpriced names, and the price you set will be seen across our network of 1.3 billion search views annually. 

Starter prompts include: 

• Show me all my unpriced listings. 

• Increase domains priced at $1,499 to $1,999. 

• Increase the price of my .AI domains by 30%. 

Manage Lease to Own

3 in 4 of our top sellers use Lease to Own to make their domains more accessible to buyers. Refine your Lease to Own strategy through the Portfolio Agent by asking: 

• Show me eligible domains that aren't enabled for Lease to Own. 

• For domains priced between $495 and $4,999, increase the maximum months to 13. 

• Increase my four-letter .com names to 37-month Lease to Own. 

Set your lander strategy

For domains registered at GoDaddy, your agent can now check and update your nameservers to point them to Afternic. This comes alongside full lander management for all domains. 

Example prompts include: 

• Point Example.com's nameservers to Afternic. 

• For domains priced over $10,000, switch them to the Request Price lander. 

• For domains priced between $2,000 and $10,000 that have Lease to Own enabled, set the Custom Lander with Buy it Now plus Lease to Own. 

These prompts are just starting points. You can ask Portfolio Agent in plain language, review what it recommends, and approve only the actions you want to take.

Use insights to find your next opportunity 

Portfolio Agent is not just for making updates. It can also help you understand where to focus by gathering and presenting portfolio data. Instead of reviewing every listing manually, you can ask questions about demand, engagement, and performance to find domains that may deserve attention. 

Portfolio Agent can help you: 

• Spot domains showing signs of buyer interest, including names with rising searches, views, or leads. 

• Identify top-performing domains across metrics such as searches, views, leads, and offers. 

• Surface opportunities to enable Lease to Own, refine your lander choices, or other listing options. 

This data can help you prioritize your next move, whether that means repricing a domain, changing how it is presented to buyers, or simply understanding which domains are gaining traction. 

To identify areas of improvement, start with a prompt as simple as “Suggest portfolio improvements.” 

Guardrails and limits 

We steadily built the capabilities of the Portfolio Agent behind the scenes, and we’re ready to share the first beta with you. We’ve chosen to release the agent to accounts with 500 domains as we build handling capabilities for larger portfolios. Currently, the agent can take action on up to 500 names at a time. If you do have a larger portfolio and want to try it, reach out to partnerseller@afternic.com. 

The Portfolio Agent is also built with strict guardrails to ensure that you have the final say on any action that changes characteristics of your domain, including pricing, nameservers, and Fast Transfer status, which helps automate ownership transfer after a sale. 

Our agent doesn’t guess either. Before taking action from your message, it will ask for clarification if it needs it. You can then carefully review what the agent proposes before you approve it. All of this is to ensure that you have total control over your agent’s output. 

Portfolio Agent does not cost anything for you to use and is available through your Afternic account today. This gives you an alternative workflow alongside your existing bulk tools, not a replacement for them.
